JNC to Meet in Orlando Next
The Master Executive Councils (MEC) for Continental, CMI and United Airlines held special meetings April 4th and 5th for the purpose of reviewing the next set of JNC proposals.
The JNC will meet again on April 8th with the Company. Eleven items discussed at the April 4th and 5th will be brought back to the table as counter proposals to the Company:

  • AMC (Air Military Command - formerly MAC)
  • CRAF (Civil Reserve Air Fleet)
  • Co-Terminals
  • Onboard Crew Rest
  • Alcohol and Drug Testing
  • Duty Free
  • Jury Duty / Court Witness
  • Leaves of Absence
  • Pass Travel
  • Safety
  • Seniority (New Hire, Probationary Terms, Supervisors, etc.)
In addition to reviewing the proposed Contract language, the 3 MEC's discussed the lack of progress and United management’s continued insistence that management continues attempt to "claw back" provisions from all three of the Contracts that have served Flight Attendants from s-CO, s-UA, and CMI.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS, THEY CAN ALWAYS GO TO DISNEYWORLD!!!

CHRIS BLACK'S DAY OFF!!!

Chris Black No Show at MEC JNC 2
While the MEC was MEETING in ORD on April 4-5th to review the JNC proposals, ONE LECP from SFO chose NOT to attend and become a "NO SHOW".

The choice to represent the membership in SFO took second place to her primary objective. To win her third term as LECP in SFO at ALL costs.

It was not enough that her voting records proves that she voted against crossovers, direct membership voting, and against all new hire S-CO flight attendants having the ability to vote during their probationary period despite the fact that they are active employees.

It was not enough that during her tenure she has written up flight attendants, turned in flight attendants with opposing views, and encouraged disrespectful behavior towards the membership by other officers. The bald faced lies and hypocrisy of "leadership" such as this is made all the more reprehensible by the utter contempt for the membership such actions show.

What should not be lost on SFO flight attendants in particular is that without Ms. black's consent, charges against the United 3 would not have been possible, and without DCA president Andreas Curlee's failed, misguided, and personal vendetta against the FACC, charges would not have been filed in the first place. The charges were DISMISSED. Should expulsion have resulted from the kangaroo court, the REAL legal system would have remedied that and the s-UA flight attendants' dues money could have gone toward reimbursing the United 3 not only for lost wages but punitive damages as well.
True reform has been vindicated despite Chris Black, and it is just beginning!

1,500 s-CO Flight Attendants in SFO!

AFA Laziness at 'Work' 2
On April 4th, Chris Black made the decision not to participate in the Special Meeting in ORD that is mandatory for all LECP's to attend. The Special Meeting was called by the MEC's of Continental, CMI, and United Airlines to discuss contract proposals made by the Company.

No, instead, she decided to remain in SFO and campaign for her re-election bid as a third time LECP. While MEC studied contract proposals by the Company Ms. Black stood in front of the Red Carpet Club in the SFO terminal campaigning, harassing, intimidating, yelling, and at times waving to passing flight attendants to call attention to herself and the psuedo reform team running on her slate. The incumbents also freely used the permit specifically approved for the very important NO KNIVES ON PLANES campaign by the SFO Airport Authority to do her own LECP campaigning instead.

In the meantime, the Training Center in IAH is still graduating new hires with over 700 s-CO flight attendants in SFO. By the year end, it is anticipated that there will be 800 more for a total of 1500. In fact, there are new classes in IAH full of Japanese and Chinese language speakers. Where was Ms. Black during the critical MEC JNC meeting? Oblivious to the changes and the challenges in our industry, vigorously campaigning to continue her bid to keep her dwindling power base!
